When the Noles Hit the Road: Where Tallahassee's East Side Watches Football This Fall

Florida State has eight games left on its 2026 schedule, and four of them are out of town. Two of those four kick off on Friday nights. Between the Virginia game on October 3 and the Florida game the day after Thanksgiving, Doak Campbell Stadium hosts four games and stays dark the other four weekends. On those weekends the game happens on a screen somewhere in town. This fall, two of the newest places to watch it are on the east side of Tallahassee, and both have planned their calendars around kickoff.

Here is what the rest of the season looks like, as of October 1, 2026.

Date Opponent Where Kickoff and TV
Sat., Oct. 3 Virginia Home 3:30 p.m., ESPN2 or ACC Network
Fri., Oct. 9 Louisville Away 7 p.m., ESPN
Sat., Oct. 17 Miami Away TBA
Sat., Oct. 31 Clemson Home TBA
Sat., Nov. 7 Boston College Away TBA
Fri., Nov. 13 Pitt Away 7 p.m., ESPN
Sat., Nov. 21 NC State Home TBA
Fri., Nov. 27 Florida Home 3:30 p.m., ABC

Florida State's May release said the rest of the kickoff times would be announced during the season, so the TBA rows will fill in as the fall goes on.

The Friday Night Problem, Solved on Blair Stone Road

A Friday road game at 7 p.m. runs past dinner and well into the evening, so any place you watch it has to stay open late. Dog Haus at 495 S. Blair Stone Road keeps its longest hours on Fridays and Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. That covers Louisville on October 9 and Pitt on November 13 with room to spare after the final whistle.

The place opened on a football night. Its grand opening was Monday, September 7, built around the FSU–SMU game. WCTV described it as a first for Tallahassee, combining an off-leash dog park, beer and coffee in one spot. Co-founder Travis Ismir had carried the idea for more than a decade and spent the last four years getting it built. The business lists Thompson Gooding as his co-founder.

"This is a space every city needs. It really does just bring community together and that's a big part of what we want to do here." Travis Ismir, speaking to WCTV

Dog Haus advertises outdoor televisions with the games on. Its October 3 FSU Watch Party promises big screens for every game and suggests getting there early for a good spot, with bonus points for dogs in jerseys. The bar pours local beer, seltzers and wine alongside the coffee.

Before your first visit, here is what to know:

  • People get in free. The fees are for dogs. You can come without a dog and pay nothing to enter.
  • Dog pricing. A day pass is $12 and expires the day you buy it. A monthly membership is $40 plus $20 for each extra dog. An annual membership is $350 plus $50 for each extra dog. All sales are final.
  • Paperwork. Dogs need current DHPP, Bordetella and rabies records. They must be at least four months old and spayed or neutered by the time they turn one.
  • Kids. Children going into the dog park must be at least 10 and with an adult.
  • Leave it at home. No outside food, drinks or dog toys.
  • Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Regular hours are Wednesday noon to 9 p.m., Thursday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Every game left on the schedule falls on a Friday or Saturday, the two days Dog Haus stays open latest.

A Horse Barn on Miccosukee Road Gets a Kitchen

About as far northeast as most people go for a beer in town, The Hub at Feather Oaks sits at 6500 Miccosukee Road. Owners Katrice Howell and Scott Carruthers reopened it in its current form in January 2023. The former horse barn now holds an 18-tap Tasting Bar(n). Outside, the Beer Garden Bar adds 14 more taps of local and regional craft beer, plus wine and frozen drinks.

The news this week is food. Until now the Hub relied on rotating food trucks. Today, October 1, Rustic Grub at The Hub holds its grand opening from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. It's run by brothers Jesse and Tyler Rice, and Tallahassee Foodies reported a menu of smash burgers, shareables, bowls, wraps, shrimp and grits, and tuna poke. The opening night calendar also has bingo at 6 p.m. with guest caller Cody Green.

The next two days show how the Hub plans to handle a football weekend:

  1. Friday, October 2, EastTown GetDown. Open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., with Big Woody Hayes as emcee and Jason Byrd playing at 6 p.m. Rustic Grub, E's Weenies, The Board Walk and Southern Oysters are serving food. The GetDown has been running at least since 2025, when WCTV covered a live music and food night under the Hub's covered outdoor space.
  2. Saturday, October 3, Game Day at The Hub. The calendar promises college football all day, FSU at 3:30, Rustic Grub open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the Feather Oaks Farmers Market from 3 to 6 p.m.

The market's hours line up almost exactly with the first half of the Virginia game, so you could shop and watch in the same afternoon. The Hub's published listings don't spell out where the game will be on screen, so check its events page before a big game. The Stable Room, which used to house horses, holds up to 65 people and has a 65-inch TV. It rents for $600 for three hours or $900 for six. The Hub lists it as fully private Monday through Wednesday and semi-private Thursday through Sunday, so on a Friday or Saturday game day a group would be sharing the space.

House rules are simple. Kids stay with their parents, dogs stay on six-foot leashes, nobody smokes, and outside food and drinks aren't allowed.

The Home Games Fill the Same Rooms

Both venues are planning around home games too. Dog Haus and the Hub each list October 3, a home game against Virginia, as a game-day event. Doak's capacity is fixed, and both businesses are counting on Tallahassee fans who will watch on a screen whether FSU is in town or not.

Two home dates later this fall are worth marking now. Clemson comes to town on Saturday, October 31, so the game falls on Halloween, and the kickoff time hasn't been set. Florida plays in Tallahassee on Friday, November 27, at 3:30 p.m. on ABC. That makes the rivalry game an afternoon on the day after Thanksgiving, when many households will have relatives in town. Dog Haus's Friday hours and the Hub's calendar make both places a possible stop with visiting family, and with Dog Haus you can bring the family dog too.

Closer to Campus, a Rally for the Road Games

If you live or work near the university, FSU has its own plan for road games. The 2026 Away Game Rally at the Student Union, 75 N. Woodward Ave., shows the game on a big screen and keeps bowling and billiards open late. Proof at FSU and Brooklyn Pizza are offering game-day deals. The remaining rally dates are October 9, November 7 and November 13, which match Louisville, Boston College and Pitt. Proof at FSU inside the Union advertises Nole watch parties and welcomes all ages, with alcohol served only to guests 21 and older.

The current rally listing does not include the Miami game on October 17. The Seminole Club of Tallahassee lists game watches among its regular activities and points members to its social media accounts for updates. The Miami kickoff time is also still TBA. For now, your plans for one of the biggest weekends of the season depend on a time that hasn't been announced.
